In 1993, professional moderator Arthur Scharff established the Presidents’ Council to provide a unique leadership development experience exclusively for CEOs and presidents of St. Louis regional businesses. In 2008, Scharff and AAIM Management Association formed the AAIM Leadership Council (ALC) to bring the very special Presidents' Council experience to other members of business leadership teams.
ALC groups fulfill a community need for developing leaders in the St. Louis region. Based on the successful Presidents’ Council model, ALC members experience a unique opportunity; bringing together emerging executives to share ideas, issues, experiences and insights. ALC members grow personally and professionally, build supportive relationships with their peers in a safe, confidential environment, and over time, step forth, with great confidence and humility, as business and community leaders.
The ALC monthly meetings provide members with the time, atmosphere and structure to become more effective leaders. Through a specific process of sharing with and learning from one-another, the AAIM Leadership Council develops group-synergy, which facilitates significant leadership and professional growth.
Our first ALC, started in late spring 2008, is populated with a diverse group of leaders who operate under the same guidelines that has made the AAIM Presidents' Council a success for the last 15 years.
